Vancouver, BC - Miguel popped over to Vancouver for the second time this year to put on a spectacular show at UBC’s Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre this past Thursday. Brilliantly coloured graphics complemented his multiple costume changes and psychedelic energy as he was backed by four dancers/singers and a full band he rocked the crowd with new hits like “Banana Clip”, “Skywalker” and “Come Through and Chill”. His collaboration with Kygo, “Remind me to Forget” even made the cut.
Between each song Miguel spoke motivational truths in an attempt to make the event “part meditation, part celebration”. Amongst all the new numbers he made sure to not ignore songs off his 2012 album, Kaleidoscope Dream, like “Do You…” and “Adorn”, even breaking down “Waves” with an intimate guitar performance. He eventually brought the whole show home with a mashup of classics including “Coffee F***ing” and “Simple Things”.
From interactions with the audience, to compelling visuals, to a downright flare for the dramatics, Miguel put on not just a concert, but a stimulating presentation of true artistry.
